The journey began in January of 2012 with a few drop-in dance classes for adults and a "staff" of one, and just beyond their 6th anniversary, the workshop now has dozens of classes filling their schedule and an ever-growing staff comprised of gifted professionals in the industry.

Their programming reaches students in myriad ways, including recreational and pre-professional programs in Downtown Jersey City and in-school enrichment programs provided to private schools throughout Northern NJ. Jaime Gong, the founder and director of Performing Arts Workshop, holds a B.A. in Dance (K-12 Education) from Marymount Manhattan College. She is a member of the International Dance Entrepreneurs Association, a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science, and a current Gold Alliance Leader. Early experience as an intern/assistant to master teachers at 92Y Harkness Dance Center & STEPS on Broadway provided the foundation for a career which now spans nearly two and a half decades. In addition to teaching in studios and schools throughout NYC & North NJ, Jaime was a member of the Education Department at New York City Center, a member of the dance faculty at The Performing Arts School@bergenPAC, and a member of the Junior School faculty at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre.
