Swimways Corp started as a division of The Kransco Group Companies, a leading manufacturer of quality toys and sporting goods. Notable brands under Kransco included Power Wheels, Wham-O, Morey Boogie, Skurfer, Street Jams, and Snark Sailboats. In June 1994, Kransco was sold to Mattel Inc., who then sold the SwimWays and Hydroslide divisions to Emmanuel Arias. Swimways Corporation was incorporated in September 1994 and remains a family-owned business managed by Emmanuel Arias, CEO, and David Arias, President.

Swimways Corp has come a long way over the years, employing 80 people and operating a 180,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach. The facility is used for rotationally molding, processing extruded aluminum, and finishing many of the products they sell. Additionally, it serves as Swimways Corp's domestic warehouse and distribution center.
