The name Solis Winery is derived from a 1830s Mexican land grant that incorporated approx. 8800 acres of land in the area known as the Rancho de Solis. The winery has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s when Italian immigrants moved into the area and began planting new vineyards. In 1917, the Bertero family opened Bertero Winery here. In 1980, the Vanni family bought land next to Bertero Winery and began planting new varieties. Several years later in 1989, they purchased Bertero Winery. Dave Vanni, who grew up in agriculture, managed the vineyard with great care, producing award-winning wines, and elevating the quality of wine in the appellation.

Upon Dave's recent retirement, the winery had been passed down to Mike and Vic Vanni. Both with degrees in agriculture and a deep understanding of ag production, the brothers combine their skills to produce consistent, premium wines at everyday-drinking value. They continue to carry on the legacy of their father, producing exquisite wines and providing guests with an unforgettable experience.
