Business Description
Born and raised in St. Louis, Mo., Richard Stephens' passion for landscaping began in high school. He worked at local garden centers that offered both interior and outdoor landscaping, sparking his interest in both lawn care and custom design. Rich studied botany and horticulture at St. Louis Community College - Meramec and at Northeast Missouri State University. He credits his studies in landscape design, architecture and plant identification in giving him the foundation needed to provide knowledgeable service to his clients. Following college, Rich worked at Missouri Botanical Gardens for six years as a research assistant. It was during that time Rich had an opportunity to buy a small grass cutting business consisting of 22 accounts and a trailer. Within just three years, he grew the business to 65 accounts and became Rich's full time job and business.
