The owner, who was born in Chicago in 1955, moved to Portland in 1978, where he operated a successful sound company and toured nationally from 1986 to 1992. After retiring from the road, he opened Really Good Stuff, where he took up the accordion and even founded the New Iberians Zydeco band in 1998.
