The owner, who has lived in Kalamazoo since 1990, is the eldest of five siblings and attended local schools before graduating from Western Michigan University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2007. She then became an apprentice at Glamour Nails, obtained her license in 2008, and worked there until 2014. In 2009, she married Thien An and they welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Ariel in 2015. Together, they purchased Happy Nails at the end of 2014 and opened Phoenix Nails & Spa at the beginning of 2015.
