Steve Law’s passion for wine began in France, where he discovered his palate for Sauvignon Blanc from Loire Valley, Pinot Noir from Burgundy, Rosé from Provence, and Viognier from Condrieu. However, it was when he discovered Syrah in Northern Rhone that his world changed. His tech career brought him to sunny Sonoma County, where he met winemaker Michael Talty. Encouraged by Talty, Steve worked his first harvest in 2006, and in 2007, he made a small batch of Syrah from the Unti vineyard in Dry Creek Valley. That was the beginning of MacLaren.

With under 1,400 cases of wine produced each year, MacLaren is a true boutique winery. The intimate setting of the MacLaren Cottage allows guests to connect with the winemaker and truly understand the passion and artistry that goes into each bottle.
