Business Description
I have been a large person all of my life and had a bad experience the first time I tried yoga at a corporate chain gym. Defeated by the way I was treated, and a bit embarrassed, I returned to my yoga books and practiced on my own. A year later I decided to enroll in a yoga class at school. It was there I met my first genuine yoga teacher.
Not long after, I realized that my purpose in life was to combine two things I love, yoga and psychology, into a therapeutic practice for women. After attending a 200-hour yoga teacher training I began offering yoga to full-figured women.
My intent is to help people realize size does not prohibit one from experiencing the sweet release of yoga and that there is a mind-body connection influencing our mindset. I understand the difficulties larger women face and have tailored the practice using props, alignment, and restorative poses. Yoga will reduce stress, promote balance and increase energy. And, it is a powerful tool for weight loss!
