Business Description
Wilhite-Carter started taking dance classes at the age of 11 at Backstage Dance Studio. At first she only agreed to take one class but after a two years of solely taking jazz dance, she became interested in tap dance. This opened the door to other forms of dance which them blossomed into a love for dance. At the age of 16 she begin to apprentice as a way to supplement her growing bills. After Wilhite-Carter graduated high school she went on to dance professionally with Aurora African Dance Troupe and to choreograph for various people, artist, and groups including a collaboration with Salsa Fuego based in Washington, D.C. This have since lead into teaching full time job. Some of the contracts she has held has been with Curves, Villa Julie, Care First Blue Cross Blue Shied, Baltimore City Schools, Be A Star Foundation, Black Student Achievement Program, Howard County Recs and Parks, and Ho Co Schools to name a few. Wilhite-Carter opened DS/DSYO her first brick and mortar location in 2016
