Damon and Donna are Tarleton State University graduates, They married shortly after college and have three children (Delani, Dalli, and Dash). 5D Custom Leather Goods helped Damon pay his way through college. Damon has worked with leather since 1985. In 1997 Damon and Donna wanted to open a Hat shop, so they did. They purchased a Hat shop in Lubbock, Texas and brought it to Abilene, Texas. Tracking the history of the Lubbock hat shop, they found that it was the same hat shop that was once J. Lee's Hat Shop that was in Abilene, Texas. A fire in 2012 forced 5D Custom Hats & Leather to start from the beginning. The hats shop is now at 517 Oak Street in Abilene, Texas and hopes to be there for years to come.
