Willey's Road Stove has a rich history that dates back to 1992 when it first opened in Stafford, Virginia. After four years in Stafford, Willey's relocated to Colonial Beach, Virginia, where it served its customers for two decades. During that time, Willey's employed many of the local youth, acting as a mentor and sending them on to be successful in their own right. The locals and summer residents of this lovely little beach town on the shores of the Potomac River still speak of the delicious handcrafted food that Willey's prepared.

After a short sabbatical, or maybe a long fishing trip, Willey's has now scaled back but is still offering some of its most memorable fare from a walk-up window down on the boardwalk. The menu continually evolves to include local favorites, and the community is grateful for its support of this local eatery.

The founder, Willey, was trained in all areas of the culinary arts at the University of Southern California and apprenticed under many chefs. He specialized in sauces, soups, seafood, and BBQ at the Pelican Bay and Plantation Bay Golf Course Country Clubs in Florida before returning to Virginia. He was a chef at the "North Turn" at the Daytona 500, where they brought the fresh seafood in from the docks right before preparation. He will tell you his first job was at the Chesapeake Bay Seafood House washing dishes, and since then, "He never left the kitchen"!
