The history of the restaurant is a heartwarming tale of love, family, and tradition. The original owners, Frank and Clara, moved to New York City from Italy in the late 60s, where they fell in love, got married, and had a son named Domenick. In search of clean air and a better place to raise their family, they ended up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and opened a full-service Italian restaurant called Venezia's in 1978. In 1995, after their children moved to Tempe, Arizona, to attend college, Frank and Clara sold the restaurant in New Mexico and moved to Arizona to be closer to their family. Domenick graduated from college in 1998, and with his wife Jaime beside him, they continued the family tradition of making great pizza.

Domenick is a local businessman who started from the bottom and worked his way to the top. He started in a small Tempe store with a seating capacity of just 16 people and no more than three employees. Working seven days a week, business was slow, and slices were sold for as little as 99 cents to get customers in the door. But his dedication to the delicious, family-inspired recipes and passion for pizza eventually led him to become the owner of an award-winning, multi-restaurant chain.
