Nestled in the heart of Spokane, WA, Townshend Cellar is a family owned and operated winery that has been producing small lots of quality sparkling, red, white, and dessert wines since 1998. The winery prides itself on selecting only the finest grapes from the finest vineyards in the Columbia Valley, and their wines derive their distinctive flavors from extensive oak aging in small French and American oak barrels.

Townshend Cellar has a rich history that dates back to the early 1990s when the family began producing small amounts of personal use wines. In 1998, Townshend Cellar became an official bonded winery, producing small lots of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Custom crushing and pressing was done for them in the Tri-Cities, WA area, and barrel storage took place at their residence in the Greenbluff area. In 1999, port was added to their wine varieties, and in 2000, Chardonnay was added to their portfolio, their first white wine produced. Another batch of Huckleberry port-style wine was also produced in 2000. Adding to their portfolio in 2001, is their first vintage of Syrah.
