Business Description
I worked in Silicon Valley as the marketing communications manager for a video equipment manufacturer, for over 12 years. During that time, I managed all their trade shows in the U.S. and abroad. This involved the worldwide shipment of many exhibits, and alot of travel. After a long career in the field of marketing and office management, I was anxious to try something like owning my own business. In 1996, after evaluating a number of franchises, I picked Mail Boxes Etc. (now called The UPS Store) in Lompoc, California.
It was perfectly suited to my background. I've now owned the store for 19 years.
