They later expanded the property by building a motel called The Ledges in 1963. In 1982, the Schaefer family closed the German restaurant on the property named The Old World Inn, but continued with the motel operations. The motel was later run by Jerome and Deborah Schaefer, the parents of the current owners. After 50 years in business, the original motel was demolished in 2013 and The Ledges was re-opened in 2015 as a marina and cottage rental resort. The current owners, Nicholas and Amy, named after their grandparents, continue to carry on the family legacy.
