They were graduates of a master watchmaker school in Germany, and after coming to the United States, they were brought on to assemble watches for the Gruen Watch Company on Watch Hill in Cincinnati. Bob Schulz was only 11 years old when Schulz & Sons Jewelers opened its doors on Madison Avenue in Covington, KY. Like his father and grandfather before him, Bob cleaned counters and studied the trade at an early age.
