Business Description
Barbara founded River Custom Canvas, LLC on August 4th, 2014. The business is focused on serving boaters in the Thousand Islands Region of New York State and will be based out of Clayton during the boating season and in Syracuse during the off-season.
Barbara has been sewing her entire life and started quilting in 1996. That was the same year that she and her husband started boating on the St. Lawrence River and began spending summers in Clayton. A few years later Barbara opened her own business selling supplies and teaching others to sew and make quilts. After 8 successful years she sold her business so that she could spend time with her grandchildren and travel with her husband.
Over the years on the river she did repairs and reupholstering for her own boat and for a few others in the marina. She came to miss having her own business and it was her love of both boating and sewing that brought her to start her new business venture as River Custom Canvas, LLC.
