He has graduated over 47 students to the rank of Black Belt, as well as having awarded Purple Belt to UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion, Lyoto Machida! Currently, Alex operates several academies in Brazil, as well as in the U.S. During his professional fighting career in Brazil, Alex won several Jiu-Jitsu State Championships, as well as National Karate Championships. He maintained a flawless record in Muay-Thai with 10 wins and 0 losses, as well as in "Vale Tudo" (Bare-Knuckle MMA) with 10 wins and 0 losses.
