Motor Supply Co Bistro is a gem located in the heart of Columbia, South Carolina's historic Congaree Vista district. The restaurant is housed in a beautifully restored engine supply building from the late 1800s, which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The ambiance is romantic and cozy, making it the perfect spot for a date night or special occasion.

Led by Executive Chef Wesley Fulmer, Motor Supply Co Bistro serves up progressive, New World cuisine that uses classic French culinary techniques. The handwritten lunch, dinner, and brunch menus change daily, featuring contemporary New American cuisine with nods to Creole, Cajun, New Southern, French, Italian, and Asian cuisine. This farm-to-fork restaurant works with local, sustainable farms for produce, meats, SC seafood and more. Seafood is caught off of the Carolina coast, and all of their stocks, sauces, and desserts are made on site, including their charcuterie, with house-made sausages, bacon, country pate, and rillettes, all the way down to the pickles and mustard.

The early 19th-century, solid-oak bar with marble columns, imported from Europe, serves over 180 fine wines (Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, 2006-12), an extensive list of imported, domestic, and local craft beers, as well as an artisan farm-to-shaker cocktail list made from house-infused liquors, handmade bitters, barrel-aged spirits, and locally-sourced ingredients and garnishes.

Motor Supply Co Bistro's Owner/GM Eddie Wales is one of the most highly regarded and beloved in South Carolina. Wales places a priority on green business practices and contemporary Southern hospitality. His staff of passionate professionals go above and beyond in everything they do. Born in North Carolina and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Wales attended The University of South Carolina and was led to Motor Supply Company Bistro by a friend in 1989. Though he started out waiting tables, he sensed that there was greater potential for him at the special little bistro with high ceilings and made-from-scratch cuisine.
