Word about the fabric store steadily spread, and Mood quickly outgrew its original space in NYC's garment district. In 2001, Mood moved into its current location at 225 West 37th Street, with 40,000 square feet spread out over three floors.

If you happen to visit Mood Fabrics, you'll likely run into Swatch, the Boston terrier who is the de facto manager of the establishment. Swatch belongs to Mood owner Eric Sauma and usually spends several days a week at the store. Swatch is a very mellow dog, content just to do his thing, but if you have a fear of dogs, let the staff know, and he'll go take a nap in one of the offices.
