The shop specializes in authentic Japanese ramen, carefully crafted with locally sourced ingredients. Their triple-stock broth is made in-house by simmering chicken and pork for hours before melding with fresh dashi (seafood stock) and resting for 48 hours. The vegan stock is equally impressive, made with fresh vegetables and locally grown shiitake mushrooms from Country Nerd Farm, and reduced for hours to give it a hearty, concentrated flavor. The tare (sauces) are also made in-house, and rotate from time to time to keep things interesting.

But what really sets Little Shop of Ramen apart is their toasted rye noodles. The flour is toasted to give it a distinct nutty flavor, and the noodle dough is made and rested before being pressed multiple times, creating a smooth, chewy noodle that you won't be able to resist slurping from your bowl.

Little Shop of Ramen started as a pop-up in January 2020, and landed in Sugar Pine Cafe serving lunch and dinner a few days a week opposite of Sugar Pine's business hours amidst a global pandemic in a small tourist-driven town. Before the first bowl of ramen was served, Melissa, co-owner with Travis (who manages The Local Grape side of the business), took four years to develop the broth, tare (sauce), and house-made noodle recipes that are the foundation of what is served today. The dedication to quality and flavor truly shines through in every dish.
