Joyful Music & Arts is a music school in Rolling Hills Estates, CA that offers music education for children and adults. Their mission is to inspire a love of music through motivational teaching, with the goal of performing together and having fun with music. With all ages and styles welcome, Joyful Music & Arts is the perfect place to start your musical journey.

Founded by George Makinto in 2011, Joyful Music & Arts is the culmination of his 25 years of musical excellence and experience as a professional international recording artist and performer. He studied classical music in Germany and toured the world as a pianist, flautist, and singer, performing Jazz, Blues, Gospel, Salsa, and other contemporary styles of music. He has toured more than 65 countries and established his first music school in Abidjan, Ivory Coast in 1987. After moving to California from Paris via New York City, Mr. Makinto settled in the South Bay and, although still performing worldwide, friends and neighbors asked him to impact their children with his joy of music. When the church building where he taught became too small to contain the growing number of students, he opened Joyful Music & Arts where he and his qualified staff of music instructors are impacting a growing number of students of all ages for the love of music and performance arts.

What sets Joyful Music & Arts apart is its focus on character, life skills, and self-esteem in addition to music education. The school is a character and self-esteem factory that manifests itself in the form of musical performances. Students are encouraged to perform regularly, and the school hosts two concerts per year where students can showcase their talents.
