Homespun: Modern Handmade is a charming boutique located in Indianapolis, Indiana on the northeast end of Mass Ave. This mini-gallery is devoted to contemporary handmade goods and features the work of more than 300 artists, crafters, and makers from across the United States and Canada. The founder of Homespun: Modern Handmade, Amanda Mauer Taflinger, is a commercial photographer, photojournalist, and art educator who has been involved in the contemporary craft movement since 2005. Taflinger launched the INDIEana Handicraft Exchange in 2007 with the intention of making it an annual celebration of contemporary craft. But one show a year quickly became two, then four, and she decided that she either needed to take a step back from the craft world or make it her full-time job. She chose the latter and spent the first half of 2010 planning Homespun: Modern Handmade, which opened in July 2010 and was an immediate hit.

Homespun: Modern Handmade provides a multitude of craft skill and small business development workshops and classes, as well as offering a bi-monthly space for up-and-coming artists to showcase their work.
