I am Kansas City born and raised, yet the art of henna found me on the Big Island of Hawaii. The precision and detail of this ancient, multicultural art form made an immediate connection with me and my attributes that support illustration. Little did I know that as I invested in further knowledge, henna would connect me to an entire world of fellow artists and propel me far away from my somewhat dormant status in producing artwork.
I find continuous joy in making the henna paste, then applying it freehand to each living canvas. Connecting with each client in many unique ways, the ephemeral nature of this ancient art form helps me share my work in a generous fashion that is mutually beneficial. While learning and appreciating the traditional styles of each region of the world, my direction continues towards the realm of style fusion or innovative, gender neutral design.
