Nestled in the heart of Minneapolis, El Jefe Cocina & Bar is a family-owned and operated restaurant that specializes in authentic Mexican cuisine. Known for their scratch kitchen and time-honored recipes, this eatery has quickly become a local favorite.

With a history rooted in the Prior Lake Farmer’s Market, El Jefe Cocina & Bar began as a small business selling signature salsas and chips in 2013. Since then, they have expanded to a food truck trailer and full-service food truck, and in May 2018, they opened their first brick and mortar restaurant in South Minneapolis.

Owner Miguel’s passion for cooking started at a young age, working in his father’s small restaurant in Irapuato, Mexico. With over 25 years of experience in well-known Twin Cities’ restaurants, including eleven years as Executive Chef at Pittsburgh Blue in Maple Grove, Miguel’s culinary expertise is on full display at El Jefe Cocina & Bar.
