With over 500,000 books in stock, including regional and out-of-print books, Coas Books is the largest independent bookstore in New Mexico. They also offer a wide selection of CDs, DVDs, Vinyl, VHS, audio books, and games. Coas Books is family-owned and operated, with two stores located in Las Cruces.
Founded by archaeologist Patrick H. Beckett in 1983, Coas Books started out as an archaeological publishing business before branching out into book-selling. Today, Patrick's son Mike and his wife Veronica continue to run the stores, with the third generation of Becketts also working in the family business.
