The Lebersfeld family founded Capitol Lighting in 1924. Max and Ethel Lebersfeld came to the United States from Austria-Hungary, and Max was a master craftsman while Ethel was a shrewd businesswoman. In the early days, the Lebersfeld's Electrical Supply business was dedicated to providing electric lighting to fine homes that were just beginning to get electric lighting. Their son Arthur accompanied his father to work as soon as he could walk. Arthur was responsible for maintaining growth during the Great Depression, expanding the company to become a retail chain, and opening several South Florida stores. Capitol Lighting is now a fourth-generation family-owned business. Herman and Max, Arthur's sons, followed in the family footsteps and helped run the business for many years. They now serve as Co-Chairmen of the Board. Herman's sons, Ken and Eric, are the CEO and President/CMO, respectively, while Max's sons, Jason and Brian, are the VP of Technology & Operations and the VP/Director of E-commerce.

Javier leads a talented and passionate team of residential and commercial lighting experts at Capitol Lighting's brand new showroom in Fort Lauderdale. Javier began his lighting career working with builders and contractors in 1996.
