The resort is staffed with college-aged camp counselors who provide age-appropriate activities for children while adults can enjoy trips to Henning's Cheese Factory, wineries, corn hole/horseshoe tournaments, a low ropes course and more! Originally purchased in 1921 by the Normal College of the American Gymnastic Union to offer summer physical education courses to its students, Camp Brosius has continued operations through and beyond the college's 1941 merger with Indiana University. In 1974, under the leadership of the IU Alumni Association, Camp Brosius opened its doors to IU families and friends for eight weeks in the summer. Now operated by the IU School of Physical Education and Tourism Management at IUPUI, the school manages the Camp Brosius affiliate and is responsible for its operations.

The directors of Camp Brosius, Wiley, and Mary, have a long-standing relationship with the resort dating back to 1971 when Wiley worked summers with the camp kitchen staff. The couple has since then spent their summers working with camp maintenance and housekeeping until the 1990s, when they served as assistant directors. They were appointed family camp co-directors in 2008, and their passion for the resort is evident in the attention they give to every detail.
