Located in the vibrant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, Brooklyn Aikikai is a nonprofit institution that is dedicated to preserving and teaching the traditional Japanese disciplines of Aikido, Iaido, Zen, and Misogi. With a mission to foster harmony within individuals, this esteemed martial arts dojo provides a sanctuary for the study of these ancient arts, attracting both novice and experienced practitioners alike.

Founded by R. Savoca Sensei on New Year's Eve in 2001, Brooklyn Aikikai has grown steadily over the years, now boasting a thriving community of over 70 adult members and 50 children. The dojo, once an old ironworks factory, has been transformed into a serene and inviting space, offering the perfect backdrop for practitioners to immerse themselves in the teachings of Aikido.

Chief instructor Robert Savoca brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the dojo. Having started his martial arts journey at the age of 13, Savoca has studied Aikido at renowned institutions such as UCLA and Aikido of Manhattan before embarking on a transformative apprenticeship with T.K. Chiba, Shihan. With a 6th Dan ranking and certification to teach by Birankai North America, Savoca's dedication and passion for Aikido shines through in his teachings.
