Asken Guitars Giftly

Asken Guitars in Los Angeles presents itself as a focused luthier bench where instrument care and thoughtful craftsmanship take precedence. Run by Fren Asken, a technician who began modifying and repairing guitars in 1975, the shop approaches each instrument with the kind of accumulated skill that only decades of hands‑on experience can produce. Customers looking for meticulous acoustic work—refrets, neck resets, bridge replacement and headstock repairs—will find a practitioner who prioritizes the instrument’s sound and longevity. The shop also handles electronics upgrades and custom builds, offering balanced technical ability for both electric and acoustic instruments.

The atmosphere is practical and welcoming; conversations at the counter often accompany the visible precision of a build or setup. That openness suits gift-givers who want to invest in a service rather than just a product: a professional refret, a tailored setup, or a custom pickup installation can change how an instrument sings and plays. Asken Guitars holds authorization for the Buzz Feiten Tuning System and has experience installing modern hardware such as EverTune bridges, so contemporary stability upgrades are an accessible option. Pricing and timing reflect the careful work required for restoration and modification, and the shop’s approach avoids aggressive upselling in favor of recommendations aimed at musical outcomes.

For anyone in Los Angeles seeking a specialist who merges long practice with clear taste, Asken Guitars offers a dependable destination for meaningful, lasting guitar work.
