Avi, the owner of the Argos Inn, grew up on a farm in Brooktondale, NY, just a few miles from Ithaca. After graduating from Oberlin College, he worked on website design in San Francisco for 10 years before purchasing the historic market building in the tiny hamlet of Brooktondale in 2005. After a 3-year renovation, that earned him his first Historic Preservation award, the market reopened as Brookton's Market, now a central part of this small rural community. With the preservation bug now firmly in place, in 2009 he purchased an old downtown mansion badly in need of repair. Determined to bring it back to all its former glory, he completed renovation it. It opened as the Argos Inn in the fall of 2013.
