Business Description
I'm Andrew Baron. I began repairing vintage machines at age 12 in 1974, with a focus on early wind-up phonographs and radios with vacuum tubes. All manner of other mechanical devices followed. From 1995, an adjunct career in innovative paper engineering, with top honors in that field resulted in a keener awareness of the properties of machines and how they degrade; subtle frictions, efficient geometry of lever systems among other factors. Museum work followed starting in 2007, with the restoration of the automaton that inspired the New York Times Bestseller The Invention of Hugo Cabret, which inspired the Academy Award winning film HUGO. I bring the same patience, attention to detail and high professional standards that I have brought to all of these related fields, to the fine art of quality clock repair and restoration.
